DOLLAR
DOLLAR: The DXY sits a little lower heading into European hours, with the
greenback struggling against JPY, CHF, EUR & GBP overnight as U.S. index futures
ticked lower after Wednesday's huge rally, although AUD, NZD & CAD lodged losses
vs. the USD in Asia-Pac trade.
- Nordea have noted that "if a U.S. corporate wishes to convert foreign currency
into USD before the end of the year, it needs to do so no later than December 27
(T-2). We call these days "HIA days", as the effect may stem from Trump's tax
reform, which in turn resembles the Homeland Investment Act (HIA) of 2004. While
the HIA effect was the largest up until the summer this year, it could still be
that the market is underestimating the flow impact on these days."
