ECB: The ECB released August data on PSPP buying. As expected, buying was
lighter than usual given the illiquid markets. Worthy of note is that in August,
the average maturity of German buying was a respectively high 5.85 years and is
a true and clean reflection given the absence of maturing holdings.
- German buying (E9.8bln) fell to almost the same level and French purchases
(E9.27bln). In July, German buying was E12.2bln.
- The average French marginal maturity purchases was 10 years i.e. still fairly
elevated.
