KIWI: The flightless bird looks set to open in Asia toward the lower side of the
$0.6991 to $0.7028 range seen so far today, where consolidation has largely been
the theme. There has been no discernible reaction to Westpac's NZ consumer
confidence data released a short time ago, the index was down 5 points to 107.4.
Ahead, ANZ Business Confidence for December (0000GMT) will be closely watched to
see if November's data was a one-off plunge, last month's data came out at
-39.3, an 8 year low as political uncertainty around the new labour government
and a slowing housing market dampened optimism. Support lies at $0.6962 (Daily
cloud base), while hourly resistance is noted at $0.7028. Kiwi was last at
$0.6994.
