CHINA: The growth in China's passenger car sales slowed in December partly due
to increased environmental protection measures, the China Passenger Car
Association (CPCA) said Tuesday. Sales rose 0.6% from a year ago to 2.79
million, down from the 3.4% registered in November. Total sales in 2017 rose
1.5% from last year to 24.2 million. On month-to-month, sales rose 11.6% in
December, compared with 9.9% in November. The CPCA also attributed the
deceleration to holiday factors, which caused some buyers to postpone their
purchases.
