STOCKS: The industrial & health care sectors drove the majority of the major
regional benchmarks lower in Asia-Pac hours, on the back of heightened U.S.-Iran
tensions.
- Mainland China outperformed, perhaps aided by the PBoC's & government pledges
to support different areas of the economy, as well as regulators making it
easier for foreign lenders to enter the domestic market. On top of this, the
PBoC's latest 50bp RRR cut, announced last week, went into effect today.
- The Nikkei 225 underperformed as Tokyo returned from a holiday break.
- Nikkei 225 -2.0%, Hang Seng -0.6%, CSI 300 +0.3%, ASX 200 -0.3%.
- S&P 500 futures -14, DJIA futures -117, NASDAQ 100 futures -39.
