CHINA YUAN: The latest Renminbi Index from the China Foreign Exchange Trade
System (CFETS), which measures the yuan against a basket of currencies from 24
major trading partners, fell 0.58% to 92.75 as of the end of July, CFETS said
Tuesday. The Renminbi Indexes measured against the Bank for International
Settlements' currency basket and the IMF's Special Drawing Rights currency
basket dropped 0.68% and 0.46%, respectively, to 93.61 and 93.75, CFETS noted.
When measured against the U.S. dollar, the yuan rose 0.75% in July, according to
calculations by Market News International based on the official close of the
yuan on CFETS.
