JAPAN: The latest round of Japanese weekly international security flows data saw
Japanese investors flip back to net buyers of foreign bonds, after they dumped
the largest amount of foreign paper since mid-August 2018 in the previous week,
with the 4-week rolling sum of the metric tending back towards Y2tn, after
falling to ~Y690bn last week.
- Elsewhere, Japanese investors sold foreign bonds for the second week in four,
pushing the 4-week rolling sum of the measure into negative (selling) territory,
for the first time since early March.
- Foreigners remained net buyers of Japanese bonds for the third consecutive
week.
- Foreigners also remained net buyers of Japanese equities for a third
consecutive week, pushing the 4-week rolling sum of the measure into positive
territory for the first time since late November 2018.
