STOCKS: The major Asia-Pacific benchmark equity indices trade higher on the day,
but back from best levels. Regional stocks came under pressure on the back of
the latest BBG story re: U.S.-China trade talk impasse, with risk-off flows
apparent in the aftermath of the headline, reversing the early buoyant tone,
before an in-line Chinese GDP release allowed risk sentiment to recover, to a
degree at least.
- Nikkei 225 +0.4%, Hang Seng +0.3%, CSI 300 +0.7% ASX 200 +0.3%.
- U.S. equity index futures have struggled.
- S&P 500 -8, DJIA -78, NASDAQ 100 -27.
