STOCKS: The major Asia-Pacific regional benchmarks were lower on Friday, with
the exception of the CSI 300, which lodged gains of 0.3%, with foreign demand
aplenty, even during the recent slump in value.
- Elsewhere the Nikkei lost 0.5% in morning session as the real estate and IT
sectors weighed, while energy names provided the noted outperformance.
- Hong Kong's Hang Seng lost around 0.3%, with industrials and I.T. leading the
way lower.
- Over in Australia the ASX registered marginal losses, as the energy sector
weighed, while telecoms and consumer staples provided the most counterbalance.
- U.S. index futures were a touch softer.
