STOCKS: The major Asia-Pacific stock indices moved lower on Thursday, with
Facebook's stock shedding over 20% in after-market dealing on the back of weak
guidance posing headwinds to tech names in the region, with U.S. Nasdaq futures
sharply lower. This outweighed the positive sentiment observed on the back of
the U.S.-EU trade talks.
- The Nikkei 225 lost 0.1% as healthcare and telecoms led the way lower,
although the bulk of the major sectors actually moved higher The TOPIX
outperformed amid reports of the BOJ realigning its ETF purchases towards the
index and away from the Nikkei metrics.
- The tech heavy Hang Seng lost 0.5%, with china's CSI 300 shedding 0.6%.
- The ASX 200 printed marginal losses, with financials adding the most weight,
while the energy sector outperformed on the uptick in crude prices observed on
Wednesday.
