CHINA PRESS: The non-performing loan ratio of commercial banks will see a slight
rise this year but remain below 2%, the China Banking Association said Friday in
its latest report on the banking sector, according to China National Radio. Net
profits of the sector rose 3.54% to CNY1.649 trillion in 2016, an increase of
1.11 percentage points over 2015, the report said. Net profits are expected to
continue to grow this year. Small and medium-size banks will see stable
expansion this year, growing faster than large banks, while private banks are
expected to see rapid development, the report said. (China National Radio)
