MARKET TALK: The only way that the previously flagged move re: Chinese port
inspections of iron ore could really be an AUD negative was if traders had more
of an issue with AUD steel than global counterparts, or were at least coerced to
act as if they did. This could effectively present discretionary penalisation
powers at the ports, but to me, it looks like the lead of the AFR story is the
issue here, and could be creating some unnecessary pressure for the AUD.
