AUSSIE BONDS
AUSSIE BONDS: The space closed higher, with YMM8 last trading at 97.890 (+4.5
ticks), while XMM8 closed at 97.275 (+3.5ticks) on broad risk aversion stemming
from anti-China rhetoric made by US policymakers Navarro & Kudlow.
- The move was driven by heavy buyside activity in US paper, including a block
buy through the offer in 10-Year note futures.
- The domestic 3-/10-Year yield differential last traded at 68.3bp, while the
AU/US 10-Year spread widened to -10bp.
- The short end of the Bill strip came under pressure as 3-month BBSW fixed 2bp
higher. IRM8 traded 3 ticks lower for the bulk of the session before retracing,
while the remainder of the white contracts traded 2-3 ticks higher.
