US TSYS/SUPPLY
US TSYS/SUPPLY: The US Treasury on Thurs 11am ET also will announce next week's
year-end auctions of 2Y, 5Y, 7Y notes and 2Y FRN reopening. Jefferies economists
Ward McCarthy and Tom Simons project that the Treasury will announce a $26B 2Y
Auction (for sale Dec. 26th), a $13B 2Y FRN reopening (for sale Dec. 27th), a
$34B 5Y auction (for sale Dec. 27th) and a $28B 7Y note auction (for sale Dec.
28th).
- They added (assuming auction sizes are as above estimates) that the 2Y note
auction will neither raise new cash nor pay down debt; 2Y FRN reopening will
raise $13B in net new cash; and the 5Y will pay down $1.0B, while the 7-year
note will pay down $2.5B.
- Jefferies economists also expected Tsy will announce for next week's bill
auctions the following: $43.097B 3-month bill auction, $43.097B 6-month auction
and $43.097B four-week T-bill auction.
