EGB SUMMARY: There have been little idiosyncratic drivers for EGBs today with a
marginal tightening of peripheral spreads.
- Lagarde made her first speech as ECB President yesterday but made little
mention of monetary policy. EGBs have taken their cue from a general risk-on
environment following positive US-China headlines overnight.
- Headlines from EU Commission Chief Negotiator Barnier has said that time will
be "extremely short for negotiations" surrounding a future UK trade deal by the
end of 2020.
- Bund futures are down -0.35 today at 170.64 with 10y Bund yields up 2.5bp at
-0.327% and Schatz yields up 0.7bp at -0.648%.
- BTP futures are down -0.30 today at 143.51 with 10y yields up 2.5bp at 1.018%
and 2y yields up 0.8bp at -0.190%.
- OAT futures are down -0.24 today at 167.33 with 10y yields up 1.7bp at -0.28%
and 2y yields up 0.8bp at -0.599%.
