Tiff Macklem is named as the new governor....>

CANADA
CANADA: Tiff Macklem is named as the new governor of the Bank of Canada, going
slightly against expectations that the currency deputy governor Wilkins would
get the nod, so a slight surprise choice.
- Macklem is an insider at the BoC having served as Senior Deputy Governor after
the Financial Crisis up to 2014 and is a current board member at Bank of Nova
Scotia.
- Also had extensive work at the Canadian finance ministry throughout the Global
Financial Crisis.
- CAD relatively unreactive and may indicate little change in expectations for
policy.
