UK: Timeline for the progress of Brexit legislation over the coming weeks:
- Friday 20 December: MPs debate and vote on the second reading of the
Withdrawal Agreement Bill (WAB). Once this is approved (as it will be given the
large Conservative majority) it will go to Committee Stage. At the end of the
session, parliament rises for the Christmas recess.
- Monday 6 January: MPs return from Christmas recess. This week is set to be
used to debate the WAB in the committee stage, the report stage, and its third
reading. 
- Thursday 9 January: The WAB is likely to have passed to the House of Lords by
this date.
- Monday 13 January: Debate on WAB begins in the Lords, will continue for 2
weeks. EU Parliament returns from recess.
- Monday 27 January: Commons set to debate any changes to WAB made by the Lords.
Should gain Royal Assent after this consideration. 
- Friday 31 January 2300GMT: UK legally leaves the EU.
