Timing of Nyhamna Restart Uncertain After Power Outage

NATGAS

The timing of the restart of the Nyhamna gas processing plant remains uncertain, following an unplanned capacity reduction of 33.8mcm/d due to failure of an external power supply.

  • "We had a power dip in the external grid, which stopped the facility. The power is back (now)," said a spokesperson for plant operator Shell cited by Reuters.
  • The timing of the plant's restart will be communicated via Gassco's transparency page, the spokesperson added.
  • Elinett, the local power grid operator, reported one power outage with substantial lightning activity in the area.
  • Nord Pool separately said the plant’s reduced electricity consumption was provisionally set to last for four hours.
