TMX Crude Active Ahead of Line Fill: Argus

A second cargo of Access Western Blend has been sold to an APAC buyer this week as Canada’s Trans Mountain Expansion nears completion.

  • Unipec was heard buying a 550k bbl AWB cargo from TMX for June arrival at Brent minus $4.5/b, according to Argus.
  • This follows a trade earlier in the week when Sinochem bought a 550k bbl AWB cargo for June arrival at Brent minus $5/b.
  • Both cargoes were purchased on a DES basis, Argus said.
  • The TMX expansion is still targeting an in-service date within the next three months, having made a call for 4.2m bbl of crude from shippers beginning in April.
