Tokyo Gas Expects No Supply Problem From Malaysia LNG

Tokyo Gas doesn't expect major supply problems due to Malaysia LNG disruption.

  • Earlier this month Petronas declared force majeure on gas supply to its LNG export facility due to a pipeline leak.
  • Petronas said it is exploring options to mitigate the impact of the leak and restore gas supply and can procure gas from other pipelines.
  • “We are still examining the situation and its impact while discussing with the seller,” according to Tokyo Gas CFO. “But the damage to the pipeline will unlikely be a decisive factor in causing any major impact on our procurement.”
