US TSYS SUMMARY: Treasuries are edging lower early Friday, with key data
awaiting later.
- The Jun 19 T-Note future is down 6/32 at 121-26, having traded in a range of
121-24 to 122-00.
- A little bear steepening in the curve early. 2-Yr yield is up 0.6bps at
2.5202%, 5-Yr is up 1.5bps at 2.5275%, 10-Yr is up 1.3bps at 2.7277%, and 30-Yr
is up 1.6bps at 3.0965%.
- Focus today on ISM manufacturing, PCE data, and UMich sentiment.
- ISM manufacturing (1000ET/1500GMT) is expected to fall to 55.5 in February
from 56.6 in January. This comes after sharp movements in the previous two
months. Regional conditions data however have suggested a mixed picture.
- Fed Chair Powell spoke overnight, but offered little new, reiterating that the
healthy condition of U.S. economy allows the Fed to be patient.
- To round out the week`s FOMC speak, Atlanta Fed`s Bostic appears at
1250ET/1750GMT and then again at 1315ET/1815GMT.
