Treasury Plans To Sell $20B in Bonds This Year

  • The $20b includes $16.55b in new debt and $3.45b to amortize debt, according to a release on the website of the Ministry of Finance.
  • $2b of funds obtained will be transferred to the Economic and Social Stabilization Fund
  • $14b to be sold in local currency:
    • $3b in bills and $11b in medium and long-term bonds.
    • $10b to be sold via the Central Bank’s SOMA system and $4b via book-building.
  • $6b in foreign currency.
  • Central government debt in local currency will rise from 65% of total at end of 2021 to 68% by the end of 2022. (All BBG)
