Trudeau Set To Revoke Emergency Powers

  • Trudeau is set to revoke his government’s emergency powers after ending the border blockades and occupation of downtown Ottawa, according to two senior government sources.
  • The House had approved the use of the powers on Monday after which Trudeau said he aimed to keep them for at least a few more days (with approval until mid-March at the latest).
  • However, with the blockades cleared in Ottawa over the weekend, the continuation of the powers was proving particularly contentious.
