STOCKS
STOCKS: Trump's tweet storm was the only game in town during Asia-Pacific hours
on Monday, crushing risk appetite, with Chinese equity indices taking the brunt
of the pressure. A targeted round of RRR cuts from the PBOC did little to stoke
broader risk appetite, although it did support the small-scale banking names
that are set to benefit from it. Japan remained closed for holiday and will
return tomorrow.
- Hang Seng -3.4%, CSI 300 -4.2%, ASX 200 -1.0%.
- U.S. equity index futures also struggled on the back of the U.S. President's
Twitter outburst.
- S&P 500 futures -56, DJIA futures -506, NASDAQ 100 futures -178.
