US TSYS
US TSYS: Tsys finished slightly higher on Friday, well off session highs with
the bid evaporating late on. The session provided a generally quiet end to the
week outside of some volatility inspired by erroneous reports surrounding the
German political situation.
- Futures went on to make new highs on a risk-off bid on concerns surrounding
the US-China tariffs situation.
- Fed non-voter Kaplan stated that he only sees three hikes in total in 2018,
despite median of 4 dots from FOMC (but he remains open minded re: a fourth
hike); while outgoing NY Fed Pres Dudley came off more hawkish saying Fed needs
to keep check on growing inflation.
- Focus this week will fall on Fedspeak, with a limited US economic docket,
Fed's Powell, Dudley, Bostic, Williams & Bullard are all set to speak.
- T-Notes last at 119.21, 10-Year Tsy yields closed at 2.921%.
