TTF Declines Towards Weekly Lows

TTF has been bouncing between about 160€/MWh and 180€/MWh all week.

    • TTF NOV 22 down -7.2% at 163.02€/MWh
  • Ursula von der Leyen is still pushing for a European gas price cap until the formation of a new gas index more representative of the LNG supplied market. The market is concerned that any cap could impact on European supplies with prices higher than Asia required to maintain LNG supplies as countries look for alternatives to Russia flows.
  • European gas in storage is now over the 90% target ahead of winter heating season with GIE data from Oct 5 showing Germany at 93.03%, Italy at 91.94%, France at 97.45% and Netherlands at 92.66%.
  • Norwegian supply is today nominated at 323.1mcm/d with Russian gas supplies via Ukraine unchanged at 42.4mcm/d.
  • Weather forecasts suggest temperatures staying near normal in NW Europe throughout much of the two week forecast period.
