Turkey, Iraq To Hold Talks To Resume Oil Flows On 19 June

The Turkish delegate will travel to Baghdad on 19 June to discuss the resumption of crude oil flows from Iraq’s northern pipeline via the Turkish port of Ceyhan according to Basim Mohammed Khudair, Iraq’s deputy oil minister for upstream affairs.

  • “There are no obstacles, if they just allow us, contracts are done we are ready to resume exports, ” Khudair said.
  • Sources said earlier this week Turkey and Iraq will be starting technical talks by early next week to resume oil flows via Ceyhan. “This does not mean exports will immediately restart s the decision requires high-level political talks” a source told Reuters.
  • Turkey halted flows via Iraq’s northern oil fields on 25 March.
