TURKEY: Minimum Wage Commission to Kick Off on Dec 10th, Sizeable Wage Hike Exp.

TURKEY

Turkey's minimum wage commission are set to hold their first meeting on December 10th.

Erdogan last week again pledged a hike to minimum wages that would top inflation in 2025, a pledge that he may be making to compensate for the lack of a mid-year raise in the minimum wage rate. With CBRT forecasting end-2025 inflation at 21%, markets expect a rise of 25-30% early next year, however it's Erdogan who has the final call after the commission makes its recommendations.
