JGB futures (and the broader cash JGB space) will likely come under pressure in early Tokyo trade, with the moves in U.S. Tsys witnessed since the contract last dealt set to be in the driving seat. A reminder that Tokyo markets will return after their Thursday holiday.

  • Political and COVID-related headlines continue to do the rounds within local media circles, although there hasn't been much in the way of market-moving reports to flag.
  • National CPI data and the flash PMI surveys headline the local docket on Friday, while the BoJ will conduct the latest round of Rinban operations covering 1- to 10- & 25+-Year JGBs.
