Wires and social media carrying reports that three fuel tanks in the Abu Dhabi industrial area have exploded after being hit by a drone attack. Also reports of a fire at Abu Dhabi International Airport. No casualties reported.

  • Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen have claimed responsibility for the attacks.
  • Saudi oil and industrial facilities have long been subjected to drone attacks from Houthis in Yemen, but hitting targets in the UAE could signal an expansion of their activities.
