UK LDZ Gas Demand Rises, Lags Averages

Gas demand in the UK from households and small businesses has risen in the first half of November on the month, amid colder weather but consumption continued to lag levels in previous years.

  • UK LDZ demand, including residential, most commercial, and industrial demand, was at 113mn m³/d on 1-14 November, National Grid data show.
  • Temperatures above seasonal norms have weighed on gas demand, which continued to lag the seven-year average.
  • Industrial consumption of 4.8mn m³/d on 1-14 November is on track to be the lowest for any November since at least 2010.
