UK PM Wants Investment in North Sea and Nuclear

Britain’s new prime minister, Liz Truss said in parliament today that she wanted to see more supplies of oil and gas from the North Sea and more investment in nuclear power.

  • She said she will announce her plan to address rising energy costs for households and businesses with a statement on Thursday.
  • She stated that she opposes the proposal of a windfall tax on excess profits from energy companies which would discourage investment.
