UK STIRs Bear Steepen A Little As Core Global FI Cheapens to Start The Week

STIR

SONIA futures follow the move lower in core global FI markets, with the strip running flat to 5bp lower through the blues, steepening.

  • BoE-dated OIS run little changed to 2bp firmer, with that strip also steepening, although familiar pricing parameters remain in play there.
  • Most of the domestic weekend headline flow has centred on political and sovereign credit rating matters, which won’t have much/any feedthrough for UK STIRs.
  • The local docket is essentially empty on Monday, which will leave focus on broader headline flow and cross-market moves.
