UK’s Crown Estate Completes Pre-Qualification of 4.5GW Floating Wind Tender

POWER

The Crown Estate has completed the pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ) stage of the Celtic Sea Floating Offshore Wind Leasing Round 5, with the results anticipated in early July, according to the company.

  • The PQQ requires potential bidders to show their technical expertise, legal standing and financials before progressing to the other stages.
  • Successful developers who progress beyond the PQQ will move on to the Invitation to Tender Stage 1 (ITT1) – where they will set out their plans for their projects regarding environmental and social impacts. This will open in August.
  • The final stage will start in the spring of 2025, with the lease agreements concluded in the summer of 2025.
  • The tender is for the development of three areas of up to 1.5GW each of capacity in the Celtic Sea.
