US Earnings Update - Average S&P500 Stock Easily Tops EPS Estimates

EQUITIES

Highlights in the coming week include Berkshire Hathaway, Bristol-Myers Squibb and T-Mobile US. Volatile stocks that have been heavily effected by the Coronavirus crisis including Clorox and Norwegian Cruiselines are also due.

Earnings continue to show firms almost uniformly beating EPS expectations. Perhaps surprisingly, the strongest performing sectors versus expectations this quarter are real estate, energy and consumer discretionary when using EPS as a guide. On sales, the S&P500's been more mixed, with healthcare performing well, while energy and utilities generally miss forecast.
