US East Coast Turning to India for Road Fuels

OIL PRODUCTS

New York’s imports of road fuels from India are soaring, with January volumes set to be more than eight times as high as last year’s average according to Kpler.

  • The East Coast typically pulls in strong volumes from Europe but the upcoming Russian oil product ban will tighten the regions export capacity, pushing the US towards exporters like India.
  • A fifth of the crude processed in India’s refineries now comes from Russia, blurring the lines between the effectiveness of western bans on its oil and products.
