US Gasoline Demand Flat: GasBuddy

US gasoline demand was flat last week, down only 0.55% from the week prior according to the latest GasBuddy figures. US gasoline demand was also flat versus the four-week average.

  • It models US gasoline consumption at 8.735mbpd.
  • Memorial Day holiday travel this month is expected to serve US gasoline a boost.
  • As many as 42.3 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home this Memorial Day weekend, a 7% increase over 2022, according to a forecast from AAA and S&P Global.
  • Car travel is expected to be boosted by cheaper gasoline prices but remain below pre-pandemic levels.
