US Increases LNG to Europe

During the first four months of 2022, the US exported 74% of its LNG to Europe, compared with an annual average of 34% last year according to EIA.

  • US LNG exports averaged 11.5Bcf/d during the first four months of 2022, an 18% increase compared with the 2021 annual average
  • In Jan to April LNG imports from the US to the EU and the UK averaged 7.3Bcf/d and accounted for 49% of total imports with 14% (2.1 Bcf/d).each from Russia and Qatar. In 2021 US accounted for 26% of imports to EU and UK.
  • U.S. LNG exports to Asia declined by 51%, averaging 2.3 Bcf/d compared with 4.6 Bcf/d (annual average) in 2021
