US LNG Exports in Oct Hit Second Highest on Record

US LNG exports in October hit their second highest level on record, according to LSEG data.

  • Exports in October were 7.92m mt, just below the record of 8.01m mt in April.
  • The rise came despite maintenance taking the Cove Point terminal offline. Additional output from other terminals compensated for the fall.
  • Europe remains the main market for US LNG, taking 60% of the total October exports. 20% of the exports were headed to Asia, down from 30% in September.
