EQUITIES: US markets get off to a good start, with cash markets up around
1.0-1.3% at the open. Following the NFP release, E-mini S&P rallied to touch
2918 but have moderated since, opening a minor gap with the overnight highs at
2923. In cash trade, the DJIA slightly outperforms, while the NASDAQ lags, but
still trades higher.
- Energy is the best performing sector, with industrials not far behind as
energy prices continue to eke out gains on the week. The poorest performing
sector so far is healthcare, but that remains up 0.6% at pixel.
- Cruiselines and retail names are among the strongest Friday, with Norwegian
Cruiselines, Carnival, Gap Inc and Kohls all up 4.5% or more.
