US Natgas Holds Earlier Gains After EIA Draw

US Natgas holds onto gains from earlier in the day with a larger than normal inventory draw. Below normal temperatures across much of the US have driven domestic demand above normal since 8 March.

  • US Natgas APR 23 up 1.2% at 2.2$/mmbtu
  • The latest EIA weekly gas inventories for the week ending 17 Mar showed a -72bcf draw compared to expectation of a -73bcf draw and the 5-year average for this time of year of -41bcf.
  • Total US inventories are near the top of the five year range at 1,900bcf.
