US Natgas Storage to End Summer at 4.1Tcf: BNEF

NATGAS

US natural gas inventories are forecast to end the summer at 4,147Bcf, well above the five-year maximum, according to BNEF.

  • US natgas storage withdrawals last month were 151Bcf below levels seen in March 2023.
  • Injections in April are estimated at 265Bcf, slightly up from 263Bcf during April 2023.
  • Inventories are forecast at 2.025Bcf for the end of the 2024-2025 winter season.
  • The EIA weekly gas inventories for the week ending Mar. 29 showed a draw of 37Bcf compared to the seasonal normal draw of 14.5Bcf. US storage inventories continue to hold a strong surplus with total stocks at 2,259Bcf compared to the previous five year average of 1,618Bcf.
