US Shale Oil and Gas Production Down in Feb: EIA

Crude output from US shale production is forecast to fall by 2k b/d to 9.68m b/d in February, according to the EIA’s monthly Drilling Productivity Report.

  • Permian will see the largest rise, up 5k b/d to 5.974m b/d. The largest falls are in Eagle Ford and Appalachia, both down 2k b/d on the month to 1.147m b/d and 145k b/d respectively.
  • New-well production is down 5k b/d to 1.163m b/d in February.
  • Gas production is down 187 mcf/d on the month to 98.889 bcf/d in February.
  • New-well gas production is down 122 mcf/d to 5.877 bcf/d
  • Drilled but uncompleted wells in December were 4,374, down 64 on the month.
