US TSYS SUMMARY
US TSYS SUMMARY: US Treasuries are trading modestly lower from Wednesday's close
with the 10-yr sector seen leading the underperformance, weighed by recovering
in European equities and upcoming 30-yr Tsy supply. US 10-yr yield is currently
at 2.9586% up 0.9bps, while 2-yr is little changed at 2.6677% and 30-yr 0.4bp
higher at 3.1143%.
- Overnight in Asia the T-note future ticked higher in response to a dovish RBNZ
and US announcement of new sanctions on Russia however, pared gains as China
stocks edged higher and buying momentum in Tsys faded.
- In the cross over to start of London trade, Tsys headed back towards intra-day
highs on mild risk-off bid but once again reversed the move and squeezed lower
as markets turned their attention to comments from Fed's Evans, release of
latest US jobless claims and U.S. PPI data, as well as 30-Year Tsy supply.
- Eurodollar futures are steady to 0.5 tick higher with little seen to direct
market in either direction. 30-yr part of swap spreads are the clear
outperformer so far today tightening 0.7bp to -7.375bps.
