Former President Donald Trump is shortly due to deliver remarks at the Detroit Economic Club in Michigan. LIVESTREAMThe event comes as Trump appears to be closing the gap slightly to Vice President Kamala Harris in the crucial northern swing states, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
- Trump said in President Biden’s hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania yesterday: “If Kamala Harris gets four more years, she will annihilate the Pennsylvania energy industry, plunging communities across this commonwealth into darkness and despair. Your jobs will be down and your salaries will follow.”
- The Hill notes: “Harris and Trump conceivably have other pathways to winning the White House if they fail to carry Pennsylvania, but those alternate scenarios would entail winning states where they are now viewed as underdogs.”
- DDHQ’s polling average shows Harris leading by less than half a percentage point in Pennsylvania, with Trump reducing Harris’ advantage across all three Rust Belt battlegrounds slightly since mid-September.
- Trump also announced yesterday he would end double taxation should he win the White House, saying in a statement: “I support ENDING the Double Taxation of overseas Americans! Let’s put America First, together. Register to Vote, and vote Republican.”
- Bloomberg reports: “The pledge, which would require congressional approval, would reduce paperwork and, potentially, the tax bills for the roughly 9 million Americans the State Department estimates are living overseas.”
