US TSY: Possible Could Announce/Auction 41-day CMB On Dec 8

WASHINGTON (MNI) - The US Treasury announced Thursday that it may announce
and auction a 41-day CMB on Friday, December 8 in an effort to achieve its cash
balances target ahead of a debt limit suspension. Below is the text of the
announcement:
Treasury may announce, auction, and issue a 41-day cash management bill
(CMB) on Friday, December 8, 2017. If auctioned, this same-day CMB would mature
on Thursday, January 18, 2018. Additional details of the CMB, including the
offering amount, would be included in the offering announcement. The offering
announcement and auction times, if any, are expected to be as follows:
     - Announcement: 9:30 a.m. ET December 8, 2017
     - Noncompetitive close: 11:00 a.m. ET December 8, 2017
     - Competitive close: 11:30 a.m. ET December 8, 2017
When-Issued trading for this CMB should not occur unless the security is
officially announced.
This action may be necessary in order for Treasury to achieve its cash
balance target in advance of the expiration of the debt limit suspension period.
