US TSYS SUMMARY: US TSYs rallied on the back of UK Attorney General Geoffrey
Cox's decision to leave his legal judgement on the Irish backstop unchanged.
- US TSY yields are <1bp higher on the day. Current yield levels: 2-year 2.477%,
5-year 2.446%, 10-year 2.645%, 30-year 3.034%.
- The Jun-19 UST future trades at 122-19 near the top of the day's range.
- Euro$ are broadly 0.5-1.0 ticks lower.
- The US government has urged Germany to block Huawei from helping to build the
country's 5G infrastructure and has indicated that this would otherwise limit
scope for intelligence sharing between Washington and Berlin. This further
suggests that US-Chinese relations are unlikely to fully thaw even if a trade
settlement is reached.
- Next up on the data calendar will be CPI and Average Earnings for February,
which will be published at 1230GMT.
