USD Bond Yields Surge W/W as War Breaks Out

  • Local & USD bonds remain Unch so far this morning, but are expected to suffer heavy selling pressure throughout the day.
  • Yields rose +60-100bp across the USD bond curve which has sustained heavier selling pressure than OFZs in the lead-up.
  • w/w USD bond yields trade +151-345bp higher with 3m, 4Y & 5Y tenors most offered at +280-345bp.
  • W/w the OFZ curve trades +90-143bp higher across the breadth with most tenors up +90-104bp with no major bias as risk-off affects drives a shift higher in the entire curve.
  • The 5Y CDS rose +83bp to 432 yesterday and should surge higher towards Crimea highs and beyond. 2014 Crimea highs: 476, Georgia highs 741.155 (2008).
