DOLLAR-CANADA
DOLLAR-CANADA: USD/CAD climbed 30 pips overnight and last deals at C$1.3243, as
WTI ebbed below $54 and commodity tied-FX struggled in the wake of a soft NZ
labour market report. CAD weakness allowed the pair to breach its 100-DMA &
21-DMA at C$1.3220 & C$1.3238 respectively. Bulls look for an extension of
today's ascent & a break above the Jan 30 high of C$1.3281, ahead of the
psychological C$1.3300 level. Meanwhile, bears need a return below the breached
DMAs before challenging C$1.3134, which represents the 200-DMA.
- Canadian labour mkt data & housing starts both come out Friday, and provide
the focal points of the Canadian docket during the remainder of the week.
