DOLLAR-CANADA: USD/CAD last C$1.3180, after the rate fell ~60 pips on Thursday
as WTI edged higher.
- A modest uptick in DXY failed to provide enough support to send the rate
higher on the day Thursday. Despite a rebound in equities, USD underperformed
most of its G10 peers.
- Bears target the 50% fibo retracement of a move from C$1.3056 to C$1.3264 at
C$1.3160 before shifting focus to the Nov 9 lows of C$1.3141. As the rate broke
below C$1.3200, bulls need a return above to shift the outlook back in their
favour before they can target the upper Bollinger band (2%) at C$1.3243.
- Canadian docket towards the end of the week is thin, focus today falls on
m'fing sales.
